Antea Group Colombia has been selected as the Lead Technical Consultant for the development of the project to structure the new road concession between Chía and Girardot, a strategic initiative of the Government of Cundinamarca with the support of the IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank Group.
This project, structured under a fifth-generation Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, seeks to modernize more than 300 km of road infrastructure, integrating criteria of sustainability, road safety, operational efficiency, and adaptation to climate change. The project includes both arterial roads (158 km) and collector roads (148 km), benefiting key municipalities such as Chía, Cota, Mosquera, Soacha, Sibaté, Granada, San Antonio del Tequendama, Tena, La Mesa, Anapoima, Apulo, Tocaima, and Girardot.
As Lead Technical Consultant, Antea Group Colombia in conjunction with Cal y Mayor, assumes the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate and consolidate the technical, environmental, and social studies for the project.
- Lead the traffic analysis, demand projections, and economic evaluation.
- Supervise the engineering studies developed by specialized consultants.
- Define the technical standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) of the PPP contract.
- Develop a detailed climate change mitigation and adaptation study, including the design of adaptation strategies and estimation of climate finance opportunities.
- Accompany and advise the Government of Cundinamarca and the IFC throughout the bidding process for the future concession, until its award.
This comprehensive approach seeks to ensure that road infrastructure is not only efficient and safe, but also resilient to the challenges of climate change.
