The projects involve the comprehensive refurbishment and upscaling of 12 km of sewerage networks in both of these Madrid municipalities.

The Sanea 2,500 Plan was approved in March 2023 with the aim of ensuring equal access to sewerage services across the region, focusing on the development of sewerage infrastructure in small municipalities. Under this Plan, Canal de Isabel II is promoting the improvement of the sewerage systems in the municipalities of Estremera and Valdepiélagos in the Community of Madrid, which have populations of 1,473 and 612 respectively.
The aim of the project to be drawn up by Antea Group is the comprehensive renewal of the sewerage network, the repair of structural defects and the resizing of obsolete sewers, with the ultimate aim of eliminating leaks and optimising hydraulic regulation to ensure efficient transport to the wastewater treatment plant, thereby eliminating uncontrolled discharges and protecting the natural environment.
In carrying out these projects, Antea Group will employ solutions that minimise environmental impact and improve the quality of the receiving environment, all in accordance with the environmental requirements set out in the relevant sectoral authorisations and in line with the company’s environmental policy.
The methodology proposed by Antea Group focuses on ensuring that the solution adopted for each of the interventions is the most efficient in terms of hydraulic capacity, durability and ease of operation, thereby improving the water cycle.
To this end, comprehensive modelling of the existing network and the proposed solutions will be carried out, covering more than 12 km of sewerage network to be renovated, along with the complete design of these works.
