The extension of Transmilenio in Soacha, Phases II and III, solves mobility problems on the South Motorway and will improve travel times on connections to the South and West of Colombia.

Soacha, Cundinamarca (Colombia).

Antea Group Colombia, in consortium with TPF, is in charge of the supervision of the NQS Extension of the Integrated Mass Transport System of Bogota (#Transmilenio) to the city of Soacha, covering Phases II and III, from Calle 24 to Calle 15 south.

The construction of this infrastructure, promoted by Empresa Férrea Regional whose majority shareholder is the Government of Cundinamarca, is being carried out by Consorcio Vial de Soacha, made up of the construction companies Mario Alberto Huertas Cotes and Coherpa Ingenieros Constructores.

Antea Group Colombia is participating in the integral supervision, in charge of overseeing the technical, financial, administrative, operational, environmental and social elements in the five stages of the project. The pre-construction stage concluded with the non-objection of studies and the obtaining of permits and agreements. Currently, the construction stage is progressing, with the supervision of the works and facing challenges related to traffic control during the execution of the works and the replacement of public services. The supervision will also monitor service levels in the next stage of operation in the first 5 years of service.

This project includes key elements for the improvement of mobility such as: Construction of roadways for mixed traffic, with three lanes in each direction, and roadways for BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) with one lane in each direction and two in station areas; Construction of four Transmilenio stations, including an intermediate station with administrative and service areas, public restrooms, cycle parking, ticket offices and feeder bus platform; construction of three pedestrian bridges and a vehicular bridge that will solve the problems of vehicles leaving Soacha for Bogotá; construction of fourteen external ticket offices in access areas to the stations; construction of an overpass intersection with a depressed vehicular and pedestrian crossing; creation of a new structure for the vehicular crossing over the Soacha River and modernisation of the networks necessary for the works.

The extension of Transmilenio in Soacha, Phases II and III, solves the mobility problems on the Autopista Sur. Phase I has been operational since 2013, operating above capacity. Phases II and III will increase passenger mobilisation from 100,000 to 400.000 passengers/day, benefiting municipalities such as Soacha, Sibaté and the Sumapaz province.

This project is a milestone in the search for solutions for sustainable urban growth and efficient mobility. Antea Group Colombia is proud of its contribution to sustainable development and community well-being.
