In the municipality of Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo, one of the most important road projects in Mexico in recent years will be built in June 2022, with an investment of more than 400 million dollars.

Quintana Roo (Mexico).

Antea Group Mexico is proud to participate in this important project as part of the supervision team of the executive projects for the Secretariat of Infrastructure of Communications and Transportation of the Government of Mexico.

Promoted by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation of the Government of Mexico and built by ICA Constructora de Infraestructura, S.A. de C.V. and ICA Constructora, S.A. de C.V., the Nichupte Vehicular Bridge is an urban roadway of approximately 9 km in length that will connect Cancun's hotel zone with the city's main avenues, providing an outlet for the intense traffic generated by the 12 million tourists that visit the area each year.

The route begins at Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard, where an overpass will be built, and ends at Kukulkan Boulevard, in the hotel zone. It maintains a 14,9 m section that will accommodate three lanes of traffic (one of which will be reversible for traffic management during peak hours in each direction) and a bicycle lane.

The bridge runs over the mangrove swamp and the Nichupte lagoon, of great environmental value, so the great challenge has been to contemplate from the design phase construction procedures that minimize the impact on the natural environment, while maintaining navigability in the lagoon.
