The rail project aims to improve public transport links between Bogotá and Soacha via a high-capacity rail corridor approximately 26 km long.

Bogota (Colombia)

The Antea Group – Sener consortium, as the technical consultant selected by the National Development Finance Corporation, is making progress on the technical structuring at the feasibility stage for the prioritized corridor of Line 3 of the Bogotá – Region Metro.

This is a strategic project aimed at improving transport links between Bogotá and Soacha via a high-capacity rail corridor with an estimated length of between 24 and 26 km. The project aims to deliver benefits in terms of reduced journey times, improved accessibility and better connectivity with the region’s mass transit system.

Line 3 forms part of the objectives of the Sustainable and Safe Mobility Plan and the Land-Use Plan, instruments that guide the consolidation of the metro network and the integration of regional public transport.

The contract provides for an initial phase focused on consolidating the corridor and defining the type of prioritized route, followed by the development of the technical feasibility studies required to progress with national co-financing and the subsequent tendering stages.

Furthermore, the project aims to integrate with the existing and future mass public transport network, particularly with Lines 1 and 2 of the Bogotá Metro, TransMilenio, Regiotram of the West and Regiotram of the North.

Technical planning for this type of project is essential for building a more integrated, efficient and sustainable transport system in Bogotá and the region.
