The Atlacomulco-Maravatío Highway is a 64-kilometer toll road, with two two-lane sections in each direction, located between the states of Mexico and Michoacán, and is part of an important highway axis that connects the center with the west of the country.
Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos, S.N.C. (BANOBRAS), as concessionaire, operates this highway section under the Performance Standards Operation Model and it is the responsibility of the Consortium integrated by Antea Group Mexico, as Supervising Administrative Agent (AAS), to guarantee compliance with the operation and maintenance standards from August 2018 to August 2025.
With the objective of maintaining the highway pavement in optimal conditions and providing a better service to users, BANOBRAS made a significant investment in the reconstruction of a surface of more than one hundred and twenty thousand square meters of hydraulic concrete at the toll plazas of Atlacomulco and Contepec, located at kilometers 107+500 and 133+660 of the highway.
Complementary works were also carried out to improve the hydraulic capacity of the drainage system at the Contepec toll plaza.
The works were carried out by the MRO (Maintainer Rehabilitator Operator), always preserving the operability of the highway during the execution of the works.
