States of Veracruz and Oaxaca (United States of Mexico).
As part of the Interoceanic Multimodal Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec program, implemented by the Mexican government to promote economic development in the region, the Isthmus of Tehuantepec railway line was modernized to compete with other transport options in terms of cost and time, mainly benefiting the population of the states of Oaxaca and Veracruz by increasing employment.
In 2020 Antea Group Mexico was appointed as an independent engineer by the project management trust to carry out the technical monitoring of the rehabilitation of the railway line of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec between the towns of Medias Aguas and Ubero. This is a non-electrified track of international gauge (1.435 mm), with an approximate length of 40 km.
The investment of this project is close to 40 million dollars, destined to the correction of the vertical alignment of the track, the rehabilitation of the transversal drainage works, the formation of rockfill for the stabilization of the terrain, the replacement of the entire superstructure (rails and sleepers) and the placement of the necessary signaling, as well as the rehabilitation of the Medias Aguas station and the Medias Aguas and Coatzacoalcos railway yards.
