The services included the evaluation of the useful life of all ITS equipment, tolling and electronic toll equipment and auxiliary systems installed on the highway.

States of Jalisco and Colima (Mexico).

The National Bank of Works and Services (BANOBRAS) is a development banking institution under the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of the Federal Government of the United Mexican States, whose task is to finance works for the creation of public services and in turn has in trust about 4.800 km of highways and roads.

Antea Group Mexico has been working uninterruptedly with BANOBRAS since 2015 in different strategic works for this institution in the management of its concessioned highway network.

The Guadalajara - Colima highway has a length of 148 km and is part of the Gulf - Pacific transversal highway axis, which connects the ports of Tampico and Manzanillo. It has three trunk toll plazas (Acatlán II, Sayula and San Marcos II) and one remote plaza (Sayula) used by approximately 35.000 vehicles per day (46% cargo vehicles), providing service and connectivity to more than 12 million users per year.

This highway operates under a new operating model that reflects the best international practices associated with a multiyear scheme of compliance with performance standards in terms of operation and maintenance, which guarantee a performance superior to that required by the regulations or indices in the matter.

Antea Group Mexico advised Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos (BANOBRAS), as Trustee of the Guadalajara-Colima highway section, evaluating the remaining useful life of the intelligent transportation systems (ITS), tolling and electronic toll systems, as well as the installed auxiliary systems.

In addition, Antea Group Mexico teams designed the maintenance programs for this equipment to maintain its functionality in optimal conditions.

A total of 1.649 ITS equipment (cameras, SOS posts, weather stations, data collection stations, variable message panels, dynamic weighing systems), 1.162 toll and electronic toll equipment installed at toll plazas, and 939 auxiliary systems equipment (treatment plants, water wells, electrical equipment, grounding systems, access control, lightning rods and intercom) were analyzed and evaluated.

With the execution of these works, Antea Group Spain and Latin America reinforces its experience in infrastructure management by providing technological solutions, improving mobility and making an optimal management and analysis of traffic parameters. Ensuring the sustainability of infrastructures is essential, so the rational management of transport through innovative systems is key in the search for a more efficient mobility, while facilitating the control and management tasks by the competent bodies and authorities.
